ANNI RISSANEN (b. 1981) is a dance artist, dancer and choreographer. In her
choreographic work, Rissanen combines dance and visual arts. She is interested in their
equal presence in the choreographic process and in the form of performance. Her work
often relates in the theme of scales and distancies. Her works has been seen in traditional
performance stages, galleries and site-specific scenes such university hall. Her
choreographies are Face-to-Face (2018), I <3 Iijoki (2017), Turning Point (2016),
Landscapes (2014) and Self-portraits (2012).
She has worked as a freelance-dancer and -performer in several works, including Maija
Mustonen, Kati Raatikainen, Soile Lahdenperä, Julius Elo, Mikko Orpana and Jouni
Järvenpää. She belongs to such companies and collectives as Go Go Dance Company
Hot Tubes, Vivarium-Collective and the Public Address -group, which make and produce
dance performances.
Rissanen has graduated as a Master of Dance from Theater Academy Helsinki in 2008.
